Gail Ostrow
Hi, I'm Gail Ostrow and I teach life and history disguised as English at Fairfield University, in Fairfield, CT. I also work part-time as a Chaplain at Bridgeport Hospital. I blog about life at askgail.com.
Gail Ostrow is semi-retired, devoting herself to community activism, teaching college students to "wake up," and teaching peace at her local elementary school. She teaches Literature of the Holocaust and Jewish-American Literature at Fairfield University. Ostrow is also a per diem Chaplain at Bridgeport Hospital. She published "Gail's Guide to Going to the Hospital" on her website www.askgail.com/wordpress. She just completed "Gail's Guide to Preparing for a Storm/Flood/Power Outage," and is currently working on "Gail's Guide to Chronic Illness and End-of-Life Care."

I teach life and history disguised as English Comp & Lit. My courses are designed as US Diversity courses, so we read and write about a number of essential and controversial issues, such as racism, classism, sexism, white privilege, the prison-industrial system, modern-day slavery, and human trafficking. We are uncomfortable, which means we are awake!
I am currently teaching Literature of the Holocaust (talk about uncomfortable!) and Jewish-American Literature.
